I would like it to be able to run COD4 on high everything at 30fps
and Crysis Warhead either low at 30fps or medium at 20fps
I am thinking of getting one of these two PC to fit it:
# Processor - Phenom X4 9550 Quad Core
# Ram - 4GB DDR 2 RAM
# Hard Drive - 640GB + 640GB SATA HD
# Optical Drive - Super Multi DVD
# Graphics Card - Nvidea GEForce 8600GT 256MB
# Operating System - Vista Home Premium
tell if the the graphics card suggested will fit it
Will i need a better power supply for PC you will have to find that out
Do top 3 graphics cards or best one
ThankyouWhat graphics card should i buy to run COD4 and Crysis Warhead?
You should try to spend as close to your budget as possible (拢60) instead of going for all the cheap rubbish.
If you can i would highly recommend spending something more like 拢100, you would get your moneys worth.

Crysis HD4870 vs 8800GT?
My computer:
E2160 Dual Core @1.8Ghz
2GB 667Mhz RAM
ATi HD4870 DDR5 512MB
Windows XP
My roomates computer:
E6850 Core 2 @ 3.0Ghz
2GB RAM 800GHz
Nvidea 8800GT 512MB
Windows Vista Premium
Now when playing Crysis I find that his computer generally runs at the same, or maybe even slightly higher FPS than mine. Especially noticed when settings are on HIGH with maybe 4x AA.
I dont get why this would be? My video card is one of the latest cards out with huge results in various reviews and benchmark tests smashing the 880GT in any comparisons. It even beats the newer GTX260 in a few cases.
So anyone know why I'm not getting the FPS the card is meant to be pulling?
Oh and also tested both machines in COD4 and with ALL the settings MAX we both average about 70FPS.....Crysis HD4870 vs 8800GT?
it's not the graphics card HD4870 (this is excellent), it's the weak processor E2160 that is the bottleneck (E2xxx is the budget series)
in my opinion this pair is a mismatch, you should upgrade the processor to an E8400.

best price/performance ratio.Crysis HD4870 vs 8800GT?
The first thing that comes to mind is that its your monitor or even the cables running to your monitor. He probably has both a higher quality monitor and higher quality cables.
I have a SLi 8800GTS and I run Crysis at about 70-72FPS on a 22 Apple Cinema Display.
His computer is also a bit faster then yours. He has a much faster processor and has slightly better memory. This might cause a slight delay between the computer and the display. Crysis HD4870 vs 8800GT?
crysis is a massively processor intense game. your processor is a major bottleneck on your video card. I would either upgrade or overclock the thing. Its an intel, they're known for their awesome overclocks, so you might as well try it, unless this was a pre-made computer which has the bios locked. Its not the graphics card at all because 8800GT SLI would get your roommate crazy high fps. Its your processor, trust me.

Would Crysis run good on that computer?
So. I've been reading many reviews about my computer and seen people saying that "It will run smoothly" etc etc. So today I decided that I'm gonna order Crysis tomorrow but I wanna make and be 100% sure that it will run smoothly on High setting with XP. So my specs are:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale
GPU: PNY G92 Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3
RAM: CORSAIR XMS2 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 675
PSP: SeaSonic M12II SS-500GM ATX12V 2.2 /EPS12V 2.91 500W
MOB: GIGABYTE GA-X38-DS4 LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel
Network Interface Card: Intel EXPI9300PT 10/ 100/ 1000Mbps PCI-Express Gigabit Performance to the Desktop 1 x RJ45Would Crysis run good on that computer?
It will run smoothly but not on the highest settings. So yes, it will run smoothly in high settings.
(nice setup btw)
Just barely. My PC has a Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 and 4GB of DDR2 running Windows Vista with a GeForce 8800 GTX. I can barely get 32fps everything maxed out at 1280x1024. But if you play at medium settings it should run in the 40 - 50fps range, especially since you have DX9 and XP. Hope this helps!Would Crysis run good on that computer?
@piNkiShlOOps - You are wrong. Firstable GeForce 8800GT is beating 8800GTX in 3D Mark benchmark test. Second of all Games doesn't know how to use QUAD processor yet. Alan Wake is gonna be the first game that will use all of the QUAD processor power. Sorry about my bad English.
Try the demo and see:
http://www.crysisdemo.com/download.htm
You should do ok since you're running XP and only DX9.
May not be able to max it out at those resolutions thou. I run Crysis with Vista so I dont know how many graphics tweaks XP has but Vista has 12 different graphic tweaks where you can run low, med, high or very high(Vista has very high) so you can experiment with what your rig runs at the best. No fret thou--with your rig you'll do fine.Would Crysis run good on that computer?
man i eeennvvvyyy uuuU!!!!! sure it will work almost anygame with that specc.. also try Ghost recon advance warfighter it's very cahllenging and beautiful game ....
Yes it would probably work.
well, it depends.
I have an Intel Core 2 quad with 2047 megs memory and a geforce 8600 GTS and it runs well. but theres a catch
with crysis, you have to sacrifice certain settings in order for top quality. For example, if you want anti aliasing, then you need to turn down the resolution. For me, 1280 x 1024 with anti alysing is a slide show. My guess is that for you, it will run smooth on medium/ (maybe) medium-high. its kind of hard to say, but you can decide by playing around with the settings. i still love putting it on high because it looks BEAUTIFUL.

If your going to get a Core i7, run your RAM in tri channel. I don't understand why you got a top of the line processor and then went thrifty when it came to the gpu. At 1920x1200 benchmarks are showing you around 40FPS at high but not max settings.Pc setup review/ how will run with crysis?
I'm pretty sure that it will run Crysis on high settings, not sure about very high though. If you actually have this computer, check it on http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/ref鈥?/a> .Pc setup review/ how will run with crysis?
You got an awesome mobo, cpu, monitor, but you went cheap on video graphics card. You should upgrade to something more practical with your build. It will probably run on mid-high to high. doubt highly it will run on very high
one, never use a 1tb drive as the os drive use a smaller one like 250gb and use the 1tb for storage.
next drop the cross fire and get a hd 4870 x2 which is gddr5
its the most powerfull card on the market today and will cost about what youll pay for the 4850's.

Crysis, an overhyped game?
Hey guys,
I just upgraded my graphics card to Radeon HD 4870 and finally dared buy Crysis Warhead about which I had heard rave reviews. I set everything to enthusiast and a x4 antialiasing. My max resolution is 1440x900 so I maxed it out too. Now the game does NOT look any greater than, say Call of Duty 5 or Fry Cry 2. What's up? Also, I'm getting pretty good frame rates with my AMD X2 6000+ and 3 GBs of RAM. How's that?Crysis, an overhyped game?
Crysis came out before those games (over a year before) and at the time it was the game to beat graphically, and it's still very worthy when seen at its peak. It's also a game which was optimized for SLI Nvidia set ups so despite the fact that you are playing with a good set up you still aren't getting the full experience. 1440x900 also isn't doing any of your games justice, 1920x1080 via HDMI would yield much better picture quality on the right monitor.
It could also be your operating system since Crysis utilizes directX 10.
